EDH man dies in Saturday crash

A 61-year-old El Dorado Hills man died following a Saturday vehicle wreck along Green Valley Road.

Driver David Verbits, driving his black 2011 Hyundai Sonata westbound on Green Valley Road east of Francisco Drive at 11:41 a.m., reportedly “swerved into the opposing traffic lane for an unknown reason. The vehicle struck a tree, continued into the backyard of a residence and rolled over,” according to a statement issued by California Highway Patrol public information officer Quinn Cuthbertson.

The victim, who was not wearing his seat belt, suffered fatal injuries.

“Regular seat belt use is the single most effective way for people to reduce fatalities in┬ámotor vehicle collisions,” Cuthbertson said.
