Folsom Lake Crossing lane closed for repairs

FOLSOM — One westbound lane of Folsom Lake Crossing will be closed beginning through July 1 to repair a drainage canal near the bridge.

One of the westbound lanes of Folsom Lake Crossing will be closed to vehicle traffic weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The closed lane, which includes the westbound bicycle lane, will be used for heavy equipment during construction hours.

The adjacent two-lane bicycle and pedestrian path will remain open, but may close periodically to allow the movement of heavy vehicles in the area. All pedestrian and bicycle traffic from the bike path must proceed with caution and obey all posted traffic signs and designated traffic control personnel.

Heavy rains have eroded the drainage canal on federal land that faces the Folsom Dam. This erosion does not pose any safety risk to the public.

Any questions or concerns about the construction may be directed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District Public Affairs Office at (916) 557-5100.
