Folsom veteran parade salutes newest generation of warriors

About 3,000 spectators are expected to line the streets at Folsom’s 11th annual Wayne Spence Veterans Parade, featuring marching bands and drill teams, Shriner mini cars, floats and flag waving veteran, scout and youth groups.

The parade begins at 9 a.m. in front of the Home Goods store on East Bidwell Street and follows East Bidwell, Coloma and Natoma streets to the Veterans Memorial near the City Hall complex. The judges review stand will be at the end of the parade route at City Lions Park.

Grand Marshals will be Staff Sgt. Kristen Romani, USAF bomb dog handler; Chief Warrant Officer Mike DeCosta, US Army Medevac helicopter pilot; and Corporal Calder (Max) Serba, US Army.  This year’s theme is Saluting our Newest Generation of Warriors: Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom.
