Food bank needs volunteers

The Food Bank of El Dorado County is looking for a few good men and women to assist EL Dorado County’s largest collaborative charity.

Do you think you have what it takes to be an amazing volunteer for a great organization?  If so the food bank can use your skills.

“Professional” volunteers are needed to assist us in many areas of day-to-day operations at the food bank. Candidates should be skilled in a professional field suitable to fit our needs, have a positive attitude, a professional appearance and be able to commit to assisting the food bank at least one day per week for a period of  two to four hours. We need volunteers who are reliable, motivated and willing to be a team player.

Volunteers can assist the food bank in many areas including:

  • Returning telephone calls
  • Data entry
  • Filing
  • Preparing mailings
  • Research
  • Information technology
  • Coordination and attendance of events
  • Warehouse assistance and more

From a grassroots humble beginning, the food bank is now the largest collaborative charity in El Dorado County. The food bank is in partnership with more than 40 local emergency food response sites provides assistance on a daily basis, to abused and abandoned children’s homes, battered women’s shelters, senior centers, local food pantries, soup kitchens, maternity homes and more.
