Francisco Drive closing for construction

The El Dorado County Community Development Agency – Transportation Division will implement full daytime closures of both directions of Francisco Drive between El Dorado Hills Boulevard and Embarcadero Drive/Cambria Way.

Francisco Drive will be closed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, and Tuesday, Sept. 24, and between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. beginning Wednesday, Sept. 25, through Friday, Oct. 4. Francisco Drive will be open all day and all night on Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 29. Staff will work diligently to minimize disruption to traffic and, if possible, reduce the total number of closure days.

The closures are necessary for pavement rehabilitation, overlay application and shoulder paving of Francisco Drive.

Motorists will be able to access Cambria Way and Embarcadero Drive from the Green Valley Road end of Francisco Drive at all times. During the closure, motorists wishing to use Francisco Drive to pass between Green Valley Road and El Dorado Hills Boulevard will be detoured to El Dorado Hills Boulevard.

Motorists are encouraged to take other alternate routes around the area which also bypass the closure. Portable changeable message signs will be placed around the work zone to keep motorists updated on any changes to the timing of the closures.

Questions regarding these temporary closures may be directed to the Transportation Division’s Maintenance Unit at (530) 642-4909.
