The area for Safeway was already zoned commercial. The residences that were opposed to Safeway knew the zoning when they purchased. Francisco Oaks residences purchased their homes with the knowledge this particular area is zoned for residential. Huge difference.
For all of us that shop in El Dorado County, there is currently no shortage of Pharmacies and fast food choices.

When Safeways was in the process, all the above was said also. It turned out to be a great asset for the local area. I’m wriitng the planning dept. today to give them my support. I’d rather spend my $$ in EDH than Folsom and when gas is $6/gal in 2 yrs. so will you.
