After three years as Marina Village Middle School’s assistant principal Cindy Giove will leave her post to be the principal at E.V. Cain STEM Charter Middle School in the Auburn Union School District.

In a letter to parents June 9 Giove wrote: “How lucky I am to have so many wonderful students and families to work with each and every day!  The friendships and shared experiences we’ve formed together are a gift that I will always treasure.

During my 16 years as a classroom teacher my primarily teaching responsibilities focused on the instruction of science and math.

In addition to my duties as an assistant principal, for the past two years I have also been an Expert Trainer for the El Dorado County Office of Education in the areas of Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards, and STEM/STEAM/STREAM education. Professionally, this new opportunity will allow me to grow in my leadership abilities while capitalizing on my strengths and interests in the STEM field.

Personally, given that I live in the Auburn area, this move allows me to be closer to home and to positively affect the educational opportunities for students and families in my own community. ”

“We wish Mrs. Giove well in her new position as a middle school principal,” said Rescue Union Superintendent David Swart. “We also thank her for her dedicated service to the students of Marina Village and to the district.”

Rescue Union is currently advertising for two middle school vice principal openings. Information regarding applying can be obtained on EDJOIN. The district is also currently advertising for the principal of Rescue Elementary School. Candidates should contact Rescue Union School District Human Resources at (530) 677-4461 for more information.
