Anyone who got through this, and there are apparantly very few, based on the fact that there's only one comment, should also check out the story about the district's response, which was published a couple months later: http://www.villagelife.com/news/fire-district-fires-back/.

Also, stories on the most recent budget:
http://www.villagelife.com/news/fire-board-grapples-with-more-budget-issues/
http://www.villagelife.com/news/fire-board-finalizes-2011-12-budget/

Also FYI, an annonymous party has created a Web site critical of the district's fiscal practices: www.edhfirefacts.org.

Please take anything written by someone that won't put their name on it with a huge grain of salt. Thanks for reading Village Life, where we do.

SAC Bee today #130k average pay for EDH fireman!! The EDH fireboard has to force the EDH fireman to make huge concessions ASAP or the $8mil surplus will be negative soon. I know the fire folks will start spinning why they should be compensated like they are, but the grand jury report should be heeded. Also I encourage, John Knight and the other El Dorado County Board of supervisors to reevaluate the property tax formula that provides the district 17.5 percent of local property tax revenue, per the report.
