Highway 50 to close Sunday for blasting

The Transportation Division of El Dorado County’s Community Development Agency will implement full closures of both directions of U.S. 50 between El Dorado Hills Boulevard and Bass Lake Road, as well as closures of the Latrobe Road onramp to eastbound U.S. 50, the Bass Lake Road onramp to westbound U.S. 50 and White Rock Road between Valley View Parkway and Entrada Circle.

These closures will occur from 5 to 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 13.

These closures are necessary to facilitate blasting operations in the median of U.S. 50 at the county’s Silva Valley interchange project. While the closures are in place, both directions of U.S. 50 traffic will be detoured around the closures via El Dorado Hills Boulevard, Serrano Parkway and Bass Lake Road. Motorists are encouraged to take other alternate routes around the area which also bypass the closures.  Portable changeable message signs will be placed around the work zone to keep motorists updated on any changes to the timing of the closures.

The county sincerely appreciates the cooperation and patience of motorists that use these roadway facilities

Questions regarding these temporary closures may be directed to the Aradhana Kochar, the county’s resident engineer for this project, at (916) 599-5673 or via e-mail at silvavalley@edcgov.us.
