Hometown hero: Jacob Tanner

Jacob Tanner

Jacob Tanner, son of Erin and James Blaylock and Robert and Jenny Tanner recently completed basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., with the 198th Infantry Brigade, Echo Company.

Jake successfully completed 10 weeks of training designed to challenge new Army Infantry recruits both physically and mentally. He has begun additional training for another five weeks at Fort Benning for his job in light artillery, mortars and will then be stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington State.

Jake attended Oak Ridge High School.
