This doesn’t mean there isn’t a safety issue when vehicles come off the overpass and naturally gain speed in their descent to this intersection. Any child, bicycle rider, or other pedestrian becomes a target.
The answer to “no traffic signal for now” is STOP SIGNS and crosswalks. That is how “low traffic volumes” are handled. Expense for stop signs and crosswalks are a non-issue for a $40 million project.
EDCDOT needs to get this right before someone gets hurt, or worse KILLED.
