Italy on Wheels planned for Folsom

Italy is moving. No, it’s not having an earthquake.

The country’s finest cars, motorcycle and bikes topped with Firevine wood-fired pizzas, Italian Ice Cream Co. with more than 16 varieties of gelato, Italian beer and sodas will roll into Folsom on Sept. 14.

Admission is free to Italy on Wheels, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Murer House and Gardens just off Folsom Boulevard at 1125 Joe Murer Court.

New and vintage Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Alfas, Fiats and Lancias will be the automobile stars of the show but will not be outdone by the Ducatis, Moto Guzzis, Aprilias, Piaggio, Vespas (means wasp) and hopefully a Lambretta or two.

There will even be Italian bicycles. Remember most 10- to 24-speed bikes use Shimano derailers. Best in show are voted on by the public who visit.
