Jacob Fine Scholarship celebrates Pondo alum

The first Jacob Fine Memorial Scholarship will be awarded May 2 at the Ponderosa Scholarship Night.

Jacob Fine attended Ponderosa High School from 2002-06. He generously served his school as a commissioner, in student leadership and on the snowboarding team. He brought humor and intellectual gifts to the classroom and was known as a friend to all and a person who reached out to help others.

During college Jacob served as a foster parent.

To continue his presence, this $500 scholarship will be given to a graduating senior at Ponderosa High School who is pursuing goals of higher education and service to others. Special consideration will be given to foster youth.

The application can be found at calocalscholarships.org.

Further information can be obtained from the career center at Ponderosa High School.

Those wishing to honor and remember Jacob may donate to The Jacob Fine Memorial Fund at: Wells Fargo Bank, 3440 Palmer Drive, Cameron Park 95682, or at any convenient Wells Fargo Bank.
