Kindergarten/Jr. Kindergarten enrollment begins soon in Buckeye

Buckeye Union School District officials announce that beginning Feb. 7, kindergarten and junior kindergarten registration for the 2012-13 school year will be accepted at all of its elementary schools: Buckeye in Shingle Springs (530) 677-2277; Blue Oak and Blue Oak Montessori in Cameron Park (530) 676-0164; William Brooks in El Dorado Hills (916) 933-6618; Silva Valley in El Dorado Hills (916) 933-3767; and Oak Meadow in El Dorado Hills (916) 933-9746.

School websites can be accessed at buckeyeusd.org.

Registration forms will be available in school offices beginning Monday, Jan. 30, and will be given to families provided that they have proof of residency and are requesting forms from their designated school based on school boundaries.

On Feb. 7 registration forms will be accepted at school sites based upon designated boundaries. New kindergarteners living in the Valley View area south of Highway 50 should enroll at William Brooks Elementary School. New kindergarteners living in the Silver Dove area (Bass Lake Road development) should enroll at Blue Oak Elementary School.

Families can find their school of residence (based on boundaries) by visiting buckeyeusd.org, clicking on “For Parents,” then “Boundaries” and entering their home address. For junior kindergarten, families who reside within the district can obtain their registration forms from any elementary school site regardless of boundaries within the district.

A child who resides in Buckeye Union School District and will be 5 years old on or before Nov. 1, 2012, may register for kindergarten or junior kindergarten. A child who will be 5 years old after Nov. 1, 2012, but prior to March 1, 2013, can register only for junior kindergarten. Children whose fifth birthday will fall between Nov. 2 and Dec. 2, 2012, will have first priority to junior kindergarten placement. Children who will turn 5 after Dec. 2, 2012, but before March 1, 2013, will be placed in junior kindergarten on a space-available basis.

They child’s birth certificate, immunization record and proof of residency will be required when parents/guardians register them. For additional information regarding registration visit or call the school.

New enrollees for all other grade levels are also invited to register on Feb. 7, according to the boundaries assigned to each site (registration forms available on Jan. 30.)

Any child attending Buckeye Union School District on a current inter-district transfer, and/or siblings thereof, must renew/submit the application or employment verification by Feb. 7.

New inter-district transfer requests will not be reviewed until May 2012.
