Lake Forest grand opening delayed

Due to the continued wet weather condition the grand opening of Lake Forest Park, scheduled for April 9, has been delayed.

A new date has not been scheduled at this time. The park is complete except for the installation of a fire road on the north side of the property. The installation of the fire road is a necessary safety requirement needed to complete the permit process and allow public use of the park.

El Dorado Hills Community Services District staff, the fire department and El Dorado County staff have been working together to resolve the location and construction requirements for the fire road. An agreement was reached on March 10 and we are currently awaiting preparation of the drawings after which the road can be constructed. We expect that the work will be completed within five days; however, before we can begin construction the site must dry out and this may take as long as two weeks of continued dry weather.

The CSD apologizes for the delay, but until the fire department and El Dorado County staff approve the site and can ensure emergency access into the park, we are unable to open the park. We will provide a new grand opening date as soon as the construction can be scheduled.

If you have any questions contact the district office at (916) 933-6624.
