On Feb. 22 the Mother Lode Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution honored two local heroes.

El Dorado County Sheriff’s Deputy William Turnbull and Placerville City Police Det. Ricky Brown received the Sons of the American Revolution Law Enforcement Commendation Medal and Certificate at the chapters dinner meeting at the Denny’s Restaurant in Cameron Park.

Along with chapter members, there were spouses, relatives, friends and children of the recipients in attendance. Chapter President Jim Young deemed the evening a great success and the chapter plans to make the awards dinner an annual activity.
