The Special Primary Election for the state Assembly 4th District will be held on Tuesday, March 8. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Feb. 22 will be the last day to register to vote in this election.Office hours for the Elections Department at 2850 Fairlane Court in Placerville are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except for holidays. This office location is also the central vote counting facility for this election. The drawing of precincts for the 1 percent manual count will be done on Wednesday, March 9, at this office and the actual hand count will begin on or after this date.

Sample ballots and Vote by Mail ballots will commence to be mailed to voters during the week of Feb. 7.
