The top of the Mormon Island Auxiliary Dam is currently a narrow, 900-foot long gravel strip. Dam foundation reinforcements under way include a 1.3 million cubic yard “downstream overlay” that will widen the dam top an estimated 400 feet to a steep bank 100 feet above Green Valley Road.
