National Memory Screening coming up

National Memory Screen Day marks the focal point of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s national initiative to promote early detection and intervention for those concerned about memory loss.

In El Dorado County the event will be hosted by Senior Day Care Services, a program of the El Dorado County Department of Human Services, and an AFA member from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center, 990 Lassen Lane.

The free, confidential screenings will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. There is no charge for the screenings; however, donations to the Senior Day Care Center are graciously accepted.

It is important to note the results of the screenings are not a diagnosis but an important first step toward proper detection and treatment.

For more information call the El Dorado Hills Senior Center at (916) 958-3575 or the Senior Day Care Center at (530) 621-6180.
