In fact the Fire Board is simply fire department’s puppets (the EDH FD spent $30,000 last election to get their puppet board members re-elected). Why did the FD spend that money to get their incumbents re-elected?

The EDH Fire Dept has an entitlement complex. They seem to feel they are owed the best of everything… and your money is no object. Brand new top of the line equipment, brand new top of the line facilities (fire stations), and unsurpassed pay and benefits with hidden incentives. Only in the FD will someone get “awarded” an addition $6000 per year and every year, for virtually the rest of their life, just for having a useless and pointless AA degree.

Remember, these are your taxes. The EDH FD gets a whopping 17.5% of your tax dollars, frankly an absurdly large sum for a department serving this type and size of community.

I’d suggest writing the Fire Dept and Fire Board expressing your concern with their well-documented wasteful spending. I’ve spoken to them myself, and unfortunately am more convinced than ever that they simply care only about themselves.
