Niello Concours to showcase Rolls-Royce, high fashion
The 10th annual Niello Concours at Serrano celebrates the Marque of Rolls-Royce and 50 years of Lamborghini and the Porsche 911 but these beautiful cars won’t be the only things to catch visitors’ attention. A James Bond-inspired fashion show is creating buzz as the must-see portion of the Oct. 6 event.
“The exciting thing this year is the fashion show,” said Parker Development’s principal planner Andrea Howard.
British-born designer Caren Templet, who runs a Sacramento fashion house, will exclusively unveil her 2013 fall/winter line. One hint: onlookers may enjoy signature cocktails at the “Shaken, Not Stirred” show.
Tickets to the fashion show are sold separately, but include admission to the Niello Concours (a $35 to $45 value).
The Boys & Girls Club El Dorado County Western Slope was chosen to benefit as this year’s charity and will receive 100 percent of the proceeds.
Howard serves on the Boys & Girls Club El Dorado County Western Slope Board of Directors.
“I joined the board three years ago because I wanted to be part of an organization that helps children and families with the extra assistance they need,” she said. “But the experience has been far more rewarding than I expected. I see the difference in the kids. They have guidance, role models and mentors to learn from. They are happy, articulate and confident in their abilities, and I am proud of them.
“Our programming focuses on helping children develop the life skills they need in the areas of character development, education, health and fitness, and the arts,” Howard continued. “For example, Power Hour provides homework assistance and tutoring. We have a Supper Program that gives kids a hearty and balanced meal at the end of the day. We have a Smart Girls program that provides mentorship to young ladies aged 8 to 17 to develop positive body image perspectives and strong self-esteem.”
The organization serves approximately 350 youth daily between its three western slope locations-Georgetown, Placerville and Pollock Pines.
