The Oak Ridge High School Sports Boosters club invites everyone to the 12th annual Blue & Gold Auction and Dinner on Saturday, April 21, 6:30 to 11:30 p.m., at Mercedes-Benz of El Dorado Hills in Town Center.
“The Sports Booster Club supports the Oak Ridge Athletic Program through fundraising and team parent involvement,” said Kari Rivera, Sport Booster president. “The organization is made up primarily of parents of student athletes who believe the high school experience is important in preparing young teens for adulthood, providing life lessons in being responsible contributing members of the community, being team players and future success in college.”
This years’ event promises to be the best yet with great food by Pheasant Wood Catering, music by DJ Mike Nolasco from Creative Sound Entertainment, dancing and plenty of fun accompanying the live and silent auction.
“We are excited to announce that David Sobon, professional auctioneer for non-profit organizations, will be leading our auction this year,” said Betty Williams, Blue & Gold Auction chairperson. “The live and silent auction will feature everything from sign-up parties, fabulous dinners, limo trips, sporting events to donated vacation homes for a week.”
“Our Boosters is a great support to Oak Ridge athletics” added Steve White, Oak Ridge High School athletic director. Without the revenue generated from the Blue & Gold auction and other fund-raising activities we would not be able to have or offer as many sports and as many levels as we do. While other districts are eliminating freshman sports entirely, Oak Ridge is keeping multiple sports at multiple levels. The money generated through the boosters also allows our students to have better equipment and training than some of our competitors. Oak Ridge is very fortunate to have such a strong and stable organization supporting athletics.”
