Following in his father’s footsteps, California Highway Patrol Officer Sean Nichols received the Officer of the Year award at the June 4 Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills breakfast meeting.

“He represents us and our community very well,” said CHP Commander Craig Root, Placerville office.

Sean’s name will go on the same plaque that bears his father’s name. CHP Officer Gary Nichols received the award years earlier. Sean joined the CHP about 10 years ago and has served in El Dorado County the last few years.

He said it’s a “great honor” to be thanked by the CHP and the community.
