People Talk: What’s great about Clarksville Day?
Francis Carpenter, Rescue “This place still has the feel of old Clarksville, and there aren’t many left like this. They’ve all turned into something else. I was here all the time when I was a kid. My dad would stop at the store to let the Model T cool off before we went on up to Rescue. I remember the store had no ice, so the drinks were warm and there was no ice cream.”
Janet Hill, Rocklin “Samuel Kyburz was my third great-grandfather. I’ve been researching my genealogy and I discovered that my grandfather’s mother was born and buried here. I just went over to the cemetery on the hill above the movie theater and saw her grave. I’ve met relatives I never knew I had.”
