People Talk: What’s your reaction to the death of Osama Bin Laden?
Nick Pulos, El Dorado Hills “My reaction is that I think this happened a long time ago and they’re just announcing it now … the death of Osama. They caught him seven years ago, but that’s not the reason we went to war anyway. Well, it was the initial reason, but the war was about a lot more than Osama Bin Laden.”
Thomas Dennin, El Dorado Hills “Really? He’s dead? I hadn’t heard. Well, justice is finally done. I hope they handled it in a way that doesn’t enflame the extremists. Even if it does, I’m more willing to take that risk than to be intimidated. We’re sending a message that we’re not going to roll over, even if it takes 10 years.”

- Bill Vandegrift, El Dorado Hills âIâm thrilled. What a great day for this country. Iâm especially thankful for the 9/11 victims and their families.â
- Charles Puckett, Orange Countyâ¨âItâs great for the country. The prior generation had Pearl Harbor and VJ Day. We had 9/11 and today. Itâs amazing to me that he avoided capture for so long.â
- Ed Golden, Rescueâ¨âI couldn’t give a ratâs ass about that guy. Thatâs what he was, a desert rat, hiding in caves like a coward. Itâs great we got him but letâs not make too big a deal out of this.â
