Renee Takkunen, Folsom: “I like Herman Cain and his 9-9-9 plan, although I’m not excited about a 9 percent sales tax. I’d like to know more about it. It sounds simple, and that’s good.”
Larry Humphrey, El Dorado Hills: “I’m not crazy about any of them. I was hoping that Colin Powell would get in the race, but I guess it’s too late now.”
Kevin Anderson, Folsom: “I liked Romney, but now I’m looking at Cain. He has more ideas than the others. I'm in construction so anyone that can beat Obama is OK by me.”
Alfred Alegria, El Dorado Hills: “I don’t like any of them. Michele Bachmann gets up there and says she’s going to build a double electric fence on the border. Right. They can’t do anything without Congress on board. Our government is broken. We need a unicameral legislature, like the UK’s parliament. Under the present system Wyoming, which has a half million people, has as much power in the Senate as California with 35 million.”
Daniel Lapadat, Fair Oaks: “We like Herman Cain, but I know he doesn’t have a chance. His ideas are too radical. But I like everything he says. The 9-9-9 plan makes sense. My second choice is Ron Paul.”
