Tony Bendana, El Dorado Hills: “Back in Nicaragua, when I was about 10, this boy used to pull my ears and punch me. I ran into him years later here in the states. I’d just gotten out of basic training and walked up to him and said ‘punch me now, you #$$%&*.’ He backed down.”

Don Dean, El Dorado Hills: “The neighborhood bully was this kid named Mike. My brother told him I said I could beat him up, so he pounded on our door and called me out. I wanted to hide but my brother pushed me out there onto the lawn, where I proceeded to beat him up. I was the pride of the neighborhood after that.”
Ben Best, El Dorado Hills: “It was my older brother Aaron. Any time my parents weren’t watching he’d shove me or intimidate me in some way. At 15 things turned around. I’d gotten bigger than him and fought back. In hindsight the whole experience made me tough. We’re good friends today.”
