People talk: Why volunteer?
Asked at the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce’s non-profit mixer last week.

Rene Eppler, Habitat for Humanity board member: "It's important to be involved in your community and choose something that helps other people. I've always been involved in Habitat, no matter where I've lived."

Jennifer Bassett, Hands 4 Hope — Youth Making a Difference founder: "Volunteer because of the way it makes you feel. It's addictive. Anybody can volunteer at any age and even an hour a month can make a huge difference in the life of another."

Raeann Jones & DJ Peterson, El Dorado Hills Community Vision Coalition: "Not only is it good for the community, volunteering makes you feel good about yourself. We especially encourage young people to volunteer because we have found that when they serve others they better themselves."

Art Patterson, MORE: "It keeps this 83-year-old man young. It's good to be able to do something for the community."
