Roebbelen employee earns safety award
Dana Lahargoue, Corporate Safety Director of Roebbelen Contracting Inc. in El Dorado Hills, was awarded the 2013 CEA Leadership in Safety Award by the Construction Employers Association. The award was presented on Jan. 14 in Concord at the CEA annual general membership dinner.
“CEA is proud to recognize Dana for her outstanding efforts in promoting safety in the construction industry,” said Michael Walton, CEA secretary said.
Lahargoue manages Roebbelen’s health and safety program, oversees the drug and alcohol testing program and maintains the various quality and safety certifications. Not only does she make sure to keep Roebbelen at the top of its safety operation, she is also active in other safety programs throughout the industry, including the CEA Safety Program Steering Committee (chair since 2005); Safety Advisory Council for the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (member since 2006); CAL/OSHA public hearings and advisory committee meetings (as a CEA representative); CEA safety forums and Safety Committee meetings (as facilitator); and CEA-sponsored safety forums and substance abuse trainings (as guest speaker). Her role with Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange has also allowed her to help organize the annual Statewide Safety Training and Management Conference.
“We are very proud of Dana’s accomplishments in the safety arena,” said Ken Wenham, Roebbelen Contracting, Inc. CEO/president. “This CEA Leadership in Safety award represents her strong commitment to safety not only at Roebbelen but throughout the construction industry. She has fine-tuned processes and procedures making each one of us accountable for our personal safety and for the safety of those around us whether we are on the jobsite, in the office or at home.”
