School board seat still open

The El Dorado County Board of Education is still accepting applications for the vacant District 1 seat. The deadline to complete an application has been extended to 5 p.m. on Aug. 11 with the board conducting interviews at its Aug. 14 meeting.

The board will make a provisional appointment for the remainder of the term, which expires in November.

All interested parties are encouraged to review the minimum qualifications and submit a Candidate Information Sheet, available on the Spotlight page at edcoe.org, which includes the map of District 1. The information provided will be made available to the board for their consideration.

Applications may be submitted online, e-mailed to [email protected], faxed to (530) 642-1832, or mailed to Superintendent of School’s Office, EDCOE, 6767 Green Valley Road, Placerville 95667, by 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11. Applicants will be notified of an interview time for the meeting on Aug. 14. Call the Superintendent of School’s office with any questions at (530) 295-2229.

Applicants should be mindful of the Aug. 8 filing deadline for November’s election. For more information regarding filing visit edcgov.us/elections.
