School district providing summer meals

Summertime is a time to play hard but it is also a time to remember to eat right. To make sure good nutrition remains a priority all summer long — and students will return to school in the fall healthy, sharp and ready to learn — the Rescue Union School District will again sponsor the Summer Food Service Program beginning June 2.

Thanks to a federally funded program, summer meals will be served free to all children 1 to 18 years of age from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 2 through Aug. 1 (excluding July 3 & 4).

Meals will be serves at the Glenview Apartments, 2361 Bass Lake Road in Cameron Park, and White Rock Village, 2200 Valley View Parkway in El Dorado Hills.

All meals must be eaten on site and leftovers may not be removed from the eating area. Adults will not be served.
