Senior Peer Counseling seeks volunteers

Facing the challenges of aging is difficult for many seniors in El Dorado County. El Dorado County’s Senior Peer Counselors program helps seniors by providing trained volunteers under professional guidance who offer lay counseling in a confidential, one-to-one setting.

SPC volunteers encourage clients to discover their own answers to the issues that are common to nearly every senior.

SPC invites interested seniors, age 55 and up, to join our next peer counseling training program. Seasoned counselors report great satisfaction in helping their peers address the issues of aging.  The classes prepare volunteers to be helpful and resourceful counselors.  The classes start on April 2. Seniors, 55 and up, who may want counseling services should call (530) 621-6304. Information is confidential, and the staff will help potential clients decide if SPC services fit their needs.
