Serrano Men’s Book Club gives back to library

Serrano Country Club

Members of the Serrano Men’s Book Club made a $6,150 donation to El Dorado Hills Librarian Carolyn Brooks last week. This was the fifth annual donation by the Serrano Men’s Book Club and was coordinated by book club members Wendell Kuykendall and Phil Benner.

The donation is designated to allow the El Dorado Hills Library to purchase the following:

  • U.S. and California State flag sets for the main library;
  • An advanced electronic book system that will allow the library to check out multiple copies of electronic books to library patrons.

With this year’s donation, the Serrano Men’s Book Club has contributed more than $16,00 to ensure the community has a great library to serve all of residents.

Book club members making contributions included the following: Coy Baugh, Phil Benner, Gene Bisson, Fred Bookey, Bob Burdt, Mike Davis, Bob Devine, George Engel,  George Faulkner, Steve Ferry, Charlie Frey, Bud Glasgow, Danny Haukedalen,, Brenden Hegarty, Jerry Jacks, Bill Keane,  Wendell Kuykendall, Jerry Legge, Bill McClanahan, Bob McWilliams, Ray Parks, Jim Pridemore, Roger Reynolds, Vern Robertson,  Don Saco, Otto Seide, Jim Sobczak, Tom Sweet, Roger Taylor, Kit Tuveson, Hal Upjohn, Bob Vierson, Peter Voy, Bill Webb and Larry Williams

Additional non-member donations were also made by Serrano Country Club members Althea Hurley and Larry and Mary Mason.

The Serrano Men’s Book Club is open to any male Country Club member and meets on the fourth Thursday of the month 4 p.m. in the men’s locker room lounge. Any one interested in joining the club may contact Charlie Frey, Jim Sobczak or Bill Webb.
