Silva Valley interchange project to begin

El Dorado County officials will break ground on the long-awaited Silva Valley interchange project at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9.

The event at the southeast corner of Silva Valley Parkway and White Rock Road in El Dorado Hills will feature a live DJ, certificate presentations, Supervisor Ron Mikulaco serving hot dogs and the traditional dirt moving to commence the project.

The $56.8 million Silva Valley Parkway interchange  provides critical infrastructure for anticipated growth and serves as the terminus for the future Capital Southeast Connector. Upon completion, the project will include Highway 50 on/off ramps, a bridge overcrossing and auxiliary lanes. El Dorado County is the lead agency on the project. Mark Thomas & Company provided the engineering design and Myers & Sons Construction LP is the lead contractor.
