Prior to retiring I was a senior manager. I have written and approved hundreds of performance reviews. And I can tell you with complete assurance that the unsigned, undated document the CSD Board released did not look like any performance review I have ever seen. The document was completely unprofessional and lacked many of the elements that a performance review should have.
If any of the managers that reported to me came to me with a document like that I would have major concerns about their management skills. We have all had performance reviews and many of us have written them. Is that what a performance review looks like? No!
The person that wrote that document needs to be sent to the HR department to be show how to write a review. But in this case it probably would not have helped because the person most likely to have written it (Tracey Lynn) is the HR director.
Aside from the totally unprofessional formant most of the issues were trivial and many looked contrived. Had I been a board member I would have been asking questions about the review but it does not appear that happened. I think the board has a lot to answer for.
