Marina Village eighth-grader Abigail Brown has a full schedule but school counselor Myrna Harp noted, “She’s never too busy to lend a helping hand.”

For this and many other reasons the 13-year-old received the Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills Student of the Month award Wednesday morning. Nominated by Harp, Abigail was commended for her love of history and English as well as her participation in the middle school’s Club Live and the Where Everyone Belongs programs. Abigail also volunteers at Jackson Elementary and service as a counseling aide at her school.

The stellar student’s parents Laura and Justin Brown, along with little sister Sarah, also attended the Rotary breakfast. New Marina Village Principal George Tapanes congratulated the proud parents on raising a great daughter.
