El Dorado Hills Rotarians presented Brooks Elementary fifth-grader Aidan McDuff with April’s Student of the Month award.

“This young man is just a wonderful service to our school and his fellow students,” said teacher Erick Nordquist said.

Aidan, 11, said he likes math and also helps with conflict resolution. He studies hard and quietly works in the classroom — not seeking attention. That’s why Principal Kathi Jensen said the staff chose to honor Aidan.

Aidan received a plaque and $50 bill from Rotary at the April 2 breakfast. Aidan’s parents Matt and Mistie McDuff, as well as little sister Ava, 5, also attended.
