Host families are needed for exchange students for three-and-a-half weeks this summer.

Education First’s Educational Homestay Programs is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting international student exchange.

We know that today’s world is a global one, and that it is exceedingly important for young people to expand their horizons. Our programs allow students ages 12-18 to experience life North American style, as they perfect their English skills on programs lasting from three to four weeks.

You can help break down language and cultural barriers by hosting an international student and build relationships you’ll never forget. You will learn about your host student’s culture and customs as you share your own. More than 120,000 students from 30 countries have participated in our homestay programs over the last 40 years.

This summer we have 102 students coming from Taiwan, Austria and Spain. They arrive July 6 and leave Aug. 1, for just 26 days.

They will be attending English language lessons and cultural courses during the weekday mornings and have organized and escorted afternoon activities
afterwards. You and your family can join us on these activities if you wish.

The weekends and evenings are free for you to enjoy with your student. You can even take them on family outings you may have already planned. Students do not need their own room and can share one with your child. We already have a network of host families signed up to help with car-pooling, emergencies and other situations due to work schedules or planned vacations. Our staff provides 24-hour support for
all host families and students.

This is a once in a lifetime experience. We carefully select host families and work to match the right student with the right family. We ask that you provide a bed in a room (the room can be shared), three meals a day (bag lunches for their school days) and transportation to their local bus pick up. Most importantly, we want our students to be treated as family, to eat what your family eats, engage in your family’s lifestyle and interact with your family and friends. This is where much of their learning happens.

Your family will develop a meaningful relationship with your student and learn about a new culture in a fun and interactive way. You will also receive 10 percent off any EF program and earn points towards travel vouchers. There is also a $25 bonus to you or an organization of your choice for every host family you refer to us. It is never too early to sign up. If you do not have time this summer, contact us about future programs.
