Vote by mail ballots enter the mail stream Oct. 9
More than 70,000 ballots will enter the mail stream on their way to El Dorado County voters on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
“Sixty-five percent of our voters have opted to receive their ballot in the mail and the number grows every election,” states Bill Schultz, Recorder-Clerk/Registrar of Voters. “Voters find it convenient to vote on their time schedule and it gives them time to study the issues.”
Since 2002, any voter can submit a single request to automatically receive their ballot by mail every election. Voters may also request to vote by mail for a single election. The deadline to request a vote by mail ballot for the Nov. 6 General Election is Oct. 30. Vote by mail ballot application is on the back of each Sample Ballot pamphlet mailed to voters.
Voters can check the return status of their voted ballot on the Elections Department website at edcgov.us/elections. Vote by Mail ballots are the first ballots counted and comprise the first results released on Election Night.
