Youth Commission seeks new members
The El Dorado County Youth Commission needs new members who want to make a difference. As part of the Youth Commission students have the opportunity to make decisions that will impact their community in a positive way.
Each student is a representative of a specific district in El Dorado County and work in conjunction with that district’s county supervisor. Throughout the year the members of the Youth Commission work on projects that are important to local youth. Ideas are brought forward from members of the commission and from youth throughout the county.
Recent projects include an Art Wall for local artists; the Youth Fest held in Placerville to promote health; re-opening of the Placerville Skate Park; fundraising for project materials and leadership conferences and more youth-initiated ideas.
By joining the Youth Commission, students will be able to develop their leadership skills and gain government experience. Students may also earn community service hours.
