Marshall Medical Center new Birth Center and Emergency Department coming soon

We’ve already been voted the best, and now we’re getting bigger and even better. It’s been many years in the making, but after tons of community support and construction, the new Birth Center and Emergency departments at Marshall are preparing to open. Planning for a fall grand opening this year, Marshall is excited to finally unveil the new state-of-the-art, patient and family friendly units.

The new Emergency Department will feature private registration rooms and patient rooms, nearly doubling the size of the current department at Marshall Hospital and providing a greater level of comfort and privacy. Fast Track service for minor injuries will be incorporated into the new unit. Marshall’s ER maintains a Level 3 Trauma status, with medical staff prepared to handle a higher level of care.

On the second floor of the new wing, the all-new Birth Center was designed with privacy, peace and quiet in mind for families — from arrival to delivery.

The five labor and delivery suites are spacious and private, featuring a separate reading/phone call alcove just outside the room. Large windows bathe the room in natural light and oversized ensuite bathrooms are outfitted with personal whirlpool tubs. Flat screen TVs with DVD player add to the comfort. The 12 postpartum rooms, all private, are also equipped with TV/DVD, large windows, private bathroom with shower and a comfortable bed for dad or other family to stay over. The new suites were built with noise reduction materials to further enhance comfort and privacy.
