The El Dorado Hills Sports Club wants to make your muscles hard and your heart healthy. The adjacent Asante Day Spa wants to rejuvinate your body and calm your mide. Each received the “best of” nod from Village Life readers in their respective categories. They are co-located in the heart of Town Center, next to the Holiday Inn Express.
Stonegate Village resident Stephanie Ward manages the fitness facility. Board-certified esthetician Janelle Harris runs the spa. They work together to meet the needs of their clients.
Between them, they offer over 40,000 square foot of the latest technology exercise equipment and the latest spa treatments.
A full locker room, complete with steam rooms and saunas, private showers, free towels, hairdryers, and personal items are all included.
The aquatics complex features two large Jacuzzis, a six-lane lap pool and a separate, family pool. Rolling foothills to the east and reclining loungers create a luxury resort feel. A full service café offers sandwiches, coffee, smoothies, snacks and even beer and wine, all of which can be enjoyed poolside.
A full court gymnasium is available for drop-in basketball and volleyball play.
Kids have their own areas, and even their own locker rooms. A Play Center is dedicated to younger kids, six weeks to six years old. Kids Club targets ages 7 to 17, and includes afterschool homework sessions, ping pong, pool, plus computers and games.
There’s no extra charge for the 65-plus classes each week, all judgment-free. They run the gamut from old standards like cardio kickboxing to the hottest new group workout trend, Zumba, the fat burning cardio Latin dance.
Mind/body classes, including radiant yoga, are some of the most popular in the club today.
“Our customers expect impeccable customer service, and that’s what we strive to deliver,” said Ward. “We offer a full range of activities so there’s something for everyone, no matter what your current fitness level.”
The spa offers the latest treatments in a tranquil, luxurious setting. “We try to create a little private retreat, right here in Town Center,” said Harris. “It’s a place to indulge yourself in healthy pleasures.”
Seven private spa treatment rooms are available for massages, facials and body wraps.
Asante Spa is the only place in El Dorado Hills to get an age-defying “oxygen infusion” facial, said Harris. Chemical peels and waxing are also very popular, as are pedicures and manicures.
The spa shares the sports club’s pools and bubbling Jacuzzis, a perfect post treatment refresher.
Drop-ins are welcome at the spa, but appointments are encouraged.
The spa employs more than 25 state-certified spa technicians and therapists, including Dr. Reginald Rice, a board-certified plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat) who offers Botox and other therapeutic injections onsite by appointment.
