The American River Lacrosse Girl’s High School team won first place in its division at the Bay Area Bonanza tournament held in Dublin Nov. 5 and 6.

They were undefeated throughout the tournament, winning five games against lacrosse teams from Bay Area clubs BearLax, Bay Area Wave, Triple Threat and the Bonanza “House” team.

The ARL Middle School team also competed at the Bonanza in its first big tournament of the fall season. With several players new to the sport, the young group had a difficult challenge against experienced squads from the Bay Area clubs, but held their own against the tough competition. El Dorado Hills goalie Laurel Maunder was named the team’s MVP of the tournament for her outstanding defensive skills and saves in the demanding goalkeeper position.
