LODI — The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section announced $33,800 in scholarships were awarded to 48 winners of the A. Dale Lacky/CSEA Scholarships for outstanding athletic performance, community service and academic success during their four years of high school.

The award, named after former Section and State CIF President A. Dale Lacky, recognizes the top male and female student-athletes within the Section. Two local athletes, Oak Ridge’s Haley Anderson and Golden Sierra’s Rocky Sacks, were awarded $600 scholarships from the Section.

The winners will be recognized at the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Breakfast Awards Ceremony earlier this month at Hutchins Street Square in Lodi.

Anderson played basketball for all four years and also played softball her freshman and sophomore years. As a freshman, she played on Oak Ridge’s Division I state championship team and was named Oak Ridge High’s freshman athlete of the year. She was named to the all-league team three times and was team captain for two years.

A member of the National Honor Society, Interact Club, Anderson is an AP Scholar and won her school’s science award last year. She is a Safe School Ambassador, math tutor and was an Oak Ridge Mix-It-Up Day coordinator. She was the football team’s statistician and volunteers with her school’s summer basketball camp.

Anderson has a 4.2 GPA, which ranks her No. 7 out of a class of 560. She’ll attend UC San Diego to play basketball and major in biology with the goal of becoming a physical therapist or something in the sports medicine field.
