Elite outshines and outplays others in Concord tournament

The El Dorado Hills Soccer Club U17 girls comp team, Elite, won the U17 Gold Division Championship at the recent Diablo FC Jenna Betti Memorial tournament.

During the three-day competition Elite won all games, only giving up one goal in the last game. The team shutout the competition, 5-0 on its first game.

Elite entered this tournament last minute, only a couple weeks before the team’s first game.

“We were thinking this would be a good way to get ready for the upcoming weekend where we are playing in the  Stanford Summer Classic Tournament,” said coach Martin Rowinski. “This was a great win for EDHSC Elite and we look forward to Stanford.”

Rowinski is joined by assistant coach Herb Bennett. EDHSC Elite’s roster list players Kylie Bennett, Dominique Carranza, Haley Dean, Autumn Derr, Jessica Diggs, Jordyn Dominguez, Sierra Fitzgerald, Shelley Hoffman, Mackenzie Hooper, Miranda Jachens, Haylee Janco, Kayla Maechler, Tatum Middleton, Maya Moncrieff, Sammy Rowinski, Summer Santangelo and Bailey Xavier.
