The U10 Boys Blue team brought home the coveted first-place trophy at the Juventus Tournament of Champions on Aug. 3-5.

This is one of the most prestigious tournaments in Northern California and the boys fought hard to come out on top. After tying Turlock 0-0 in their first game, the boys went on to beat the Madera Roja Bears 6-2 and advanced out of their bracket in second place. The semi-final game was a battle as the boys came back from a 0-2 deficit to beat the Madera Red Scorpions 3-2.

In the championship game, the boys pulled out a 3-1 victory over Evolution FC and took home the first-place medal … their first of the year.

“The boys are really starting to hit their stride,” said coach Sean Santora. “Many of them played together last year, but they are just at such a different level now.  I am really proud of them!”

On Aug. 18-19 the boys were in the Davis Legacy Super Clasico and again brought home the championship. After 2-1 victories against  both Atletico Santa Rosa Cobras and Elk Grove Navy, the  U10 Boys Blue team needed a win against USA Stars. The players did just that, beating the Stars 5-2.

In the final against Davis Red Bulls, one of the teams biggest rivals after meeting numerous times last year, the two teams battled back and forth. Davis scored first. After a penalty in the box, the Ethos boys tied the game 1-1. They made it through two overtimes and finally won on penalty kicks.

Ethos Soccer Club will offer a fall academy for those looking to enhance their child’s soccer skills.  Registration is now open. For more information on the academy or Ethos visit EthosSoccer.org.
