The Oak Ridge JV team took second place at the Alhambra Bulldog Classic in Martinez on March 5, going undefeated in pool play against Ygnacio Valley, Berkeley, San Francisco and tournament hosts Alhambra.

The Lady Trojans’ only loss was to Piedmont High School in the championship game.

“This year’s JV squad is comprised of many players that are new to the sport of lacrosse,” said coach Debi Schaeffer. “For many, this was their first game ever. I am so proud of them!”

For Oak Ridge, Bridget Malone lead the attack with four goals, JV Captain Kendall Lewis and Sydney Triplett tallied three goals apiece, while Co-Captain Kirsti Buckendorf, Kendall Kelley and Rebecca Reiner chipped in two goals each. A strong Oak Ridge defense was lead by Morgan Janice and goalie Jessica Hanson, making her debut with a shut-out in the first game, holding the opponents scoreless in a 6-0 victory.
