Larsen, Harris, Zutter, Orr have strong races

MT. SHASTA — South I Division snowboarders had a total of four racers finish in the top 10 after a day and a half of competition at the California Interscholastic Ski and Snowboard Federation State Championships at Mt. Shasta.

Two boarders, Ponderosa’s Monica Zutter and El Dorado’s Katie Harris, made it both days for their strong showing in Monday’s Giant Slalom and Tuesday’s slalom. Zutter was seventh best Tuesday and crossed ninth Monday while Harris grabbed sixth place Monday and was 10th Tuesday.

Oak Ridge’s Zachary Larsen had the best finish with a fourth in Monday’s GS. Cougar Madison Orr was eighth in Monday’s race. Larsen also had a sixth place finish at yesterday’s slalom to cement a high place on the All State team.

Below are just the results for Monday’s race. Tuesday’s slalom results will run in a future Democrat.
