In one of the largest West Coast Lacrosse events of its kind, rising sophomore Josh Wellman of Oak Ridge High School was named to the Adrenaline Shootout all-star team this weekend.

Each year, Adrenaline Lacrosse puts together the largest west coast recruiting tournament for elite lacrosse players. With more than 25 teams and 500 players from across the United States, competition was fierce. The all-star game consisted of the best 50 players competing on two 25 man teams in front of more than 70 college recruiters.

Wellman did very well on face offs and had two goals for his all-star team. The Adrenaline all-star team ended up beating the South Swell all-star team 9-4.

Wellman’s Bay Area based elite team, the Golden State Titans, played very well, ending the tournament with a 5-1 record. The Golden State Titans are coached by professional players Chris Rotelli and Eric Martin.

The team heads to the University of Delaware next week to compete in one of the largest East Coast events – Battle of the Hotbeds.
