The Marble Valley Mustangs rode six players all the way to last month’s championship game in the County Sports League conference tournament but came up short to Sierra Ridge 40-36 for the title.

As the No. 3 seed, the Mustangs, featuring Siera Rasmussen, Olivia Smith, Maeve Nave, Taylor Foster, Emilee Hoffman and Kassidy Lyons, defeated the No. 1 seed Herbert Green Middle School 37-26 in an exciting semi-final victory before falling to Sierra Ridge of Pollock Pines in a back-and-forth, action-packed championship game.
